Maybe it's just because you've been the reliable one at work, at home, in the group chat for so long that you've forgotten what it feels like to just be a person. matched

So here's the thing: we have a performing self and we have a resting self. matched

And the performing self has metrics. matched

We have titles, we have tasks, we matched

Have responsibilities, we have outputs, and the resting self has what? matched

What exactly is it that the resting self has? matched

And that's the uncomfortable part because when we remove the performance, many high performers don't find peace. matched

They find anxiety, blankness, a weird grief that they can't quite name. matched
