So what happens though is that over time we can also start to equate resting with numbing. matched
So when we finally stop, many of us don't like rest. matched

It just became a numbing mechanism, a coping mechanism to pause any pain, to not really have to feel anything. matched

And I will say for me, that's where there was a little bit of a shift that readings has always been a little bit more restorative for me, where I can binge watch TV and still feel really exhausted on the other side of things. matched
And reading seems to function differently. matched
I don't know why. matched
There's probably research and science behind that. matched

The re there's a good reason why numbing is so appealing to high achievers and really to just humans in general. matched
