So I think I get from you that maybe you are, like me, a lover of Hoy Lake.
You love Ely, you know, all this sort of stuff.
But don't forget there are brilliant golf courses like Deal down in the southwest that have, I wouldn't say maybe Duneland, but they have lots of undulation, lots of throughput.
um certainly out on the the kind of seaside holes in deal you know the macro and macro is not bad when it's utilized correctly so i'd love to hear your take on what you know about birkdale what you think about that and i know we're coming out probably from the same angle

So this is something I think about all the time.
Sometimes golf, I think, and you've mentioned terms like vague.
It's a really interesting term.
I don't want to know when I play golf where the ball will end up.
That's why we love firmness, but that's also why we love subtle contours around greens.
We love them internally in fairways because golf, I think, is a game.
It's like a game of chance almost.
And you mentioned riddle and I think of it
much less it certainly is a sport andy and i would never say it's not a sport but i love to think of it as a game of chance and when you say riddle that really hits home with me as well we think about it in the same way because the nuance has been taken out of the game by technology it has been absolutely evaporated out the skill level at the top of the game has been condensed
So sometimes a good player in my home club once said to me, what did I think ball striking was?
And I probably responded saying something stupid like the ability to flush the ball or repeatedly hit it long and straight or something like that.
But he said, no, it's someone who can hit the ball the required distance on repeat.
Now, that's easy if you're playing a kind of a weekly DP World Tour track or
most of the PGA Tour courses.
But if the ball is four inches above your feet in Hoy Lake, sitting on a baked lie, and there is a very small pimple of a knob in front of a green, that is a completely different shot than on a flat fairway.
