And I'll tell you why.
It might work with brand new mason jars.

The jars don't matter.
The jars are infinitely recyclable.
The thing that's not actually infinitely recyclable are the lids.
Because as soon as one has been sealed and then unsealed, especially if you vacuum sealed it,
it bends a little bit.
And so there's no real such thing other than cranking the hell out of it to guarantee that you have sealed it.
