That's right.
Birmingham is at the foot of the Appalachians.
And so when systems come through uh mainly from the east, a couple things can happen.
Uh one, we can get some of the lift from the storms that come across the mountains, hit the Atlanta area, and then work the way our way, which is likely what's going to happen since the ridge will be built farther or centered farther north.
So as that pushes its way closer to us, you'll see that rain kind of spreading from east to west.
Which is kind of backwards for our area here.
But sometimes you can get some downsloping off those mountains.
And it can dry us out too.
Uh, we'll get that drier, somewhat less humid air coming in off the mountains there from North Georgia.
And that helps to make things a little bit better for us too.
So we're gonna be watching to see this uh because the the more of an easterly flow is anticipated the next couple of days, uh, even at the surface.
So it's gonna be hot to be humid here.
We're talking high temperatures, upper nineties the next two days here.
Heat advisories, excessive heat warnings are in effect, but
But one thing we get and we get these types of storms that come our way, they're intense.
Uh, you know, down in Florida, you get the sea breeze from both coasts, right?
We might get the sea breezes far north if we're lucky.
There's a strong subtly flow.
But traditionally, when we get the daytime heating storms, they blossom usually the late afternoon or early evening with intense heavy rain because our you know precipitate water, moisture in the atmosphere is really high for us.
