I'll go to the mailroom.

I'll deal with the bills.

I'll find something to run our finances.

I'll start to grow some food.

That's kind of where I found YNAB.

It was very much smaller scale then.

It hadn't bitten me in the way it did, not having been much of a son of the earth back in my previous career.

Suddenly it was, I'll do it because I can and I want to contribute.

And then it kind of bit me because I love to cook.

And suddenly the idea of cooking with your own stuff...

Got me to do it more and more year after year.

Even then, when I was working, it grew and it grew and it grew until eventually it became the whole thing.

Let's get the chickens.

Let's get the turkeys.

Let's sell seedlings.

Let's do this.

So, yeah, that's how it kind of snowballed as well as the dead snowball at that point as well.

It clicked as a methodology.

I loved the certainty of, I still remember to this day, the first time I gave all my dollars a job.

And I wanted to just sit and look at the budget.
