But uh but like being sick for a a weekend is the right time to watch these books.

But yeah, but I'm just trying to help them up their baseball game a little bit because the show does cram tons of baseball talk into the dialogue and even in places where it doesn't fit.

And I love it.

It's one of the fun things about watching a show like this is the where they they find ways to sneak baseball in.

But so I'm just trying to help them up their game.

There there are so many lessons.

Yeah, like the the most recent seasons, it all starts because uh Reacher is in Philadelphia to watch a kid who sits a hundred and touches one hundred five.

And uh it seems like they're going for Jacob Mizorowski, but they're in the wrong city, so they just leave him nameless.

And kind of nobody would talk that way.

When you're in Philadelphia, you would use the name of the player that everybody's talking about because he throws a hundred five miles an hour.

It we're we're picking nits here, but I it was just basically.

Basically this is what I did over my paternity leave is I had this idea to write this article.

So whenever my daughter was down for a nap and I wasn't napping myself, I would watch the show and look for all the baseball stuff and write jokes about it.

Right.

So I the the big takeaways, uh, you know, Mike Petriello and Tom Tango, who who work for MLB and StatCast, that they did a lot of the heavy lifting in calculating the metric and and making it work.

And they did an amazing job.

And and there are a lot of really cool takeaways about who is good at at receiving and how they get to that value.

Uh I have a lot of smaller ideas that are kind of gnawing the little bit of meat that's left on the bone.

And this one was I was really curious, you know, first baseman over the time that they're measuring uh receiving stats, scoops and high throws and wide throws and bouncers, they range from uh five eight, which was Donovan Solano, to uh I think there's a there somebody is is six five now, six seven.

Uh T J Rumfield is is way up there.
