I think you saw me on Diary of a CEO.

And there was a woman who was like, I really impacted my income by taking years off to have children.

And it's unfair because women are the ones who have kids.

But there's just a real economic consequence to stopping your career.

And when you stop your career in your 30s to have children, it's usually women that do this versus men, you get really hurt financially.

The other thing that really affects women, I mean, because sadly I'm not done, is that women often bear the cost of taking care of mom and dad, the elderly cost.

And so women get squeezed because they're helping mom and dad.

I don't know where the brother is, but this is very common.

And then they're also taking time off often to take care of mom and dad.

So I think what I've taught to women is, look, you've got to take your financial life seriously.

I don't care who you're married to.

I don't care if you're married, not married, married to a bank president.

I don't, you know, whatever your situation is, you have to be in charge of your finances.

You have to care because even if you're married to someone who's managing the money.

More than likely, he will pass away before you, and you will be forced to learn about money at the worst possible time in your life.

So the time to take care of your finances is literally like now, today.

The other thing I'll say, and this is the last thing, and I'll be quiet here, is if you're married, you have to know where all the money is going.

And you have to know where all the money is.

And the fire drill I teach women to run, and men, this can be for you too, but you should ask yourself the question, if I lost my spouse today...

or my partner, what would I need to know about the finances tomorrow?
