America is withdrawing its military commitments today.
to, certainly in terms of American deployments of forces in Europe.
And in the long term, you have to take care of your own security because our focus is on China.
And it's time that you rich Europeans paid for yourselves.
So I think that the direction of travel in terms of the American commitment to European security under this administration
which was a reversal of 80 years of policy, is clear in that Europeans cannot in the long term rely on the American guarantee.
And in the short term, actually, would you put your trust and your security on people who seem to change their mind so often?
Now, in terms then of what's happening in Ukraine, we know that Ukraine has had some significant success in targeting areas inside Russia itself, even close to Moscow.
But of course, they suffer the retaliation of massive drone and missile attacks as a result of their temerity.
Where is that process going at the moment?
Well, what's interesting, as you say, is that the capacity to hurt Russia and take the war to Russia and make Russians feel that this is not a thing which is a faraway war, but actually affects them immediately, even in the capital, has actually buoyed the mood in Ukraine that they actually are in a position to resist this.
The Americans, interestingly, have washed their hands of this.
It seems as if America only has two negotiators, Gerald Kushner and Steve Witkoff.
And given that they're involved in Iran, the Americans have said, we're no longer involved in trying to solve this.
