On the other side, John, you have the much more largely Catholic people of the former West Germany.
So Catholic in the sense of Bavaria,
Baden-Wittenberg, even all the way up to the Mosel, the Rhineland.
These are Catholic Germans, and they are very, very Western.
They are very West European.
They were occupied by Napoleon.
They have Republican values.
They are liberal.
They are tolerant.
They are quite, quite different.
