To me, a difference would be like my second book was called Naked.
And I was under a deadline to write it.
It was before I started going on tour.
Yeah,
So none of those essays was read before a live audience until the book came out.
And everything in it is twice as long as it should be.
Everything in it is you see somebody straining for a laugh and like elbowing you in the ribs.

just awful.

And then the last book, I'm like, what am I here for?

Also, it's a difference.
That second book, if you were meeting somebody for the first time and they didn't know anything about you, you would say, These were big moments in your life.
So I wrote about big moments in my life.
But now I write really about nothing.
Reading things out loud and then going back to the room and rewriting them.
That piece that I wrote about feeding animals, my biggest laugh in it came from during QA.
