And tomorrow's GDP data, that gross domestic product data that will sort of highlight how the snapshot of the economy over the past uh three uh months or the second quarter, it might indicate that the economy can't really take another rate hike.
And you know, business editor Michael Yander has been talking about the idea that another rate
hike would would push probably the the economy into a recession.
So h how do you navigate this idea of struggling households?
Um, you know,
very wealthy property owners having a little bit of uh money taken off the table in the last few months, but this broader idea that the economy is really struggling with an inflation problem and the potential for a a a rate hike.
But as you say again, early next year, if the rate hikes that we've had are still to filter through the economy over the next six months, we might be looking at an interest rate cut early next year.

And to but do you think investors and and more broadly, maybe even first home buyers, do you think they're focused more on whether the Reserve Bank will hike interest rates again or on the tax changes and how that filters through the property market?
Yeah, and this keeps cropping up.
Uh when the market does uh flip, whether it goes up or backwards or sideways, we do see the preferences of vendors change depending on the market conditions.
Anyone who has gone through the process of selling a dwelling and going for the option of an auction will know how incredibly uh angst ridden it is and nerve wracking.

And buyers.
It's it's uh you know, full disclosure, uh I've I've been to several, um, and it's just mind-numbingly awful.
So, Carentan, it reminds me, of course, the fact that uh given it's such a a public nerve-wracking exercise, if there is a suspicion by the vendor that it's not going to go the way they hope, then they're they're gonna uh can at least consider the idea of a private treaty.
