And wake up at three in the morning though, Oh my God, I haven't checked in and there was a lot of shame for me around that and he was like eighteen, nineteen, twenty years old and that and he could handle himself, but even so some of that
It got worse than that actually, because um when I was chatting to her,
um it was around the days of the wicked blues, you know, those kind of drink, the hoochies and whatever, right?
So they were aiming them at the um teenage girls, fourteen, fifteen years old and then it says, Right, now they are basically hooked on these.
Two years later on, they were saying, right, what how can we get 'em onto the next thing, which was the pink gins, you know.
And it's actually disgusting.
It's disgusting.
But there but there's so many layers though, Vic, like of you know, the majority of people that I speak to have symptoms of ADHD.
So it's not just about trauma, it's about um how you wide your your need for dopamine.
Um, it could be environmental, you could be in a toxic
marriage or you you know, the a job you hate and you turn into drink and 'cause it's an addictive substance you drink more and more on a Friday night you might get stuck into the second bottle and go, Do you know what?
I've got tomorrow off and then you wake up and you've ruined your day off.
Um going back to the shame cycle is like this is why
we need to speak about it more and people need to reach out, join groups, have conversations, because when you hear people that have similar stories, it reduces the shame.
Because we live with it inside our head and it can eat you alive.
Do you know what I mean?
And that can keep you in the spiral of drinking 'cause you can't handle the emotions of it.
All I can say is that
The day I stopped drinking was the start of my new life.
And that was seven and a half years ago now.
