Then years later, a similar thing.
I came home from college to visit and there.
They prayed over me, I'll say it that way, in a way that made me very uncomfortable in a room full of people that knew nothing about any of my struggles, but the person who prayed for me was someone that I confided in years back.
And so I think that we also have to talk about that charismatic component that many white churches experience as well, but we see a lot in the black community
Where if we are struggling with something sexually and that becomes known, it's demonized in a way where we have to pray harder, fast.
And if you can do that, you will overcome this thing.
And that's a wonderful Christian discipline to pray and to fast.
But sometimes the answer to prayer, as my best friend says, is a good therapist.
And you have to work through the wounds and you have to work through the shame and the pain.
And when that work meets the power of the Holy Spirit, it's an amazing freedom that comes there.
And so prayer and fasting is a huge spiritual part of it.
But what about the physical reality that we're sexual beings?
And when people are engaging in sexual behaviors, they're responding to those urges that God gave us.
They just don't understand what to do and how to cope with those urges and desires.
And that's where I think...
Yes.

Yes.
Because we only think of deliverance as the moments that Jesus cast demons out.
But if we really examine, let's use Peter for an example.
