And what this bill really did, and what happened is the bill has been put over to a carryover, and we plan to work.
Our goal is that no legislation is necessary.
But what this bill really would have done, had it been enacted, it would have hurt the franchisee who plays by the rules.
And expect the franchise or to enforce the brand and keep that brand standard.
Because when you invest in a franchise, you invest into a system that you know that works.
And you know that there's this consistent experience that everybody knows what's going to happen when you purchase an item or if you stay in a hotel or what have you.
It's a consistent experience every single time.
That's the goal of having a franchise.
And it's a positive experience.
Well, what this bill would do is would basically create anarchy because you wouldn't know what products you're getting.
They had issues in this bill that would allow the franchisees to set their own hours.
They could set the products that they sell.
They could decide whether or not to participate in a promotion.
And what happens is you have an individual, the franchisee, who says, okay, I'm buying into this system.
I understand the rules.
I signed the agreement.
I read the agreement.
And now –
Other folks who are in the system aren't playing by the same rules, and those are the folks who really would have been hurt by that.
