And that's what the goal of the book is, really explaining what I just said now, that a bond is like a loan, and you're lending money, and a stock is like an ownership in the company, and funds are like a, I like to call them like a salad.

Because in a fund, whether it's a mutual fund or an exchange-traded fund, you can go to the supermarket and buy your lettuce and your cucumbers and your tomatoes and your peppers and mushrooms all separately and make your own salad.

It's kind of like deciding if you want to buy Microsoft and IBM and Facebook and Google and whatever all separately.

Or you can just buy one of those pre-prepared salads in those nice little plastic container and it's all done for you.

I really go into language that women in particular understand.

We all know about going and buying pre-made salads, right?

And that's what a mutual fund or an exchange-traded fund is.

So I explain that.

I explain how to look out for fees.

You can go and choose a fund,

But there are costs to some funds, whether they're loaded funds, there's a front load or a back load, or there is management fees that are embedded into it.

So really helping people understand what to look out for so that those of us who are not working on Wall Street and we don't have all of the knowledge that I should have had, right?

But we can really do our own investing and we can keep so much money.

Yeah.

Because those investment fees eat away at your retirement nest egg.

Or even if you're saving for your kids for college, whatever you're saving and investing for, the more you're paying out to somebody else for something that is really so simple.

is something that you are not familiar with.

That's why it seems hard.
