ain't gonna let no jailhouse turn me around turn me around turn me around ain't gonna let no jailhouse turn me around gonna keep on walking keep on talking marching up to what because the truth will set you free and we're living in a time where they don't want the truth because they don't want us to be free right
But that is not going to stop me because I'm not going to let nobody turn me.
And it's not, you know, the folks, the grammatical perfectionists will say around, but our people said turn me round.
So you're not turning me round.
I'm just going to keep on walking and keep on talking.
So two weeks have been a little bit frightening.
It started in Minnesota that I decided to go to Minnesota kind of at the last minute.
I was supposed to go to Chicago to emcee the Dr. King Breakfast for the Rainbow Push Foundation.
You know the Rainbow Push Coalition.
Reverend Jesse Jackson's organization.
And I had worked in Chicago as an anchor.
That's how I got to know Barack Obama.
He was a state senator when I was there.
And he would come into my station.
He had on these shoes that had holes in them and his one suit.
And he was all skinny.
Very smart, but very sensitive about news reports and criticisms.
Don, why'd you let them say that?
I'm like, OK, I'm sorry, Mr. Obama.
And he was a state senator.
