And when a new technology is deployed and the standards don't exist for it, usually the first mover's technology.
Technology is adopted as the standard.
So if China's able to deploy a lot of these driverless cabs around the world and other
AI services, their standards might be the first to be adopted.
That means when American companies finally get around to moving overseas and trying to sell their own AI services, they might have to conform to Chinese standards.
And this would be a big change for the way that things have worked for decades.
America is used to defining the technologies that will be used.
And if that switches and China takes the lead in that area, it's it's a very concerning thing for how technology works around the world.

One of those is its autonomous driving technology.
I was asked to sit in the back of one of their sportier models and experience what they call hands-free drifting.
For me as an American, we call this spinning donuts.
