So to be one of the youngest players at high A, but dominating hitters, he's checking so many boxes himself.

Interesting to see late May, they tried him on five days rest.

That's kind of one of the last tests, one of the last hurdles of pitching prospect.

or four days rather.

That's one of the last hurdles they have to face before they move up to the next level, and it didn't go very well, as it was the same case for Nolan Perry.

They tried him four days in between starts, and they wound up having to shut him down for a week, and he got roughed up a bit in his next two starts.

So King and May, they tried this with, and he lasted only a third of an inning in his next start.

so we went back to every fifth day um or every sixth day sorry getting my days confused here uh once a week basically he was a once a week starter but this past week uh they started him twice and they started against a pretty good uh giants affiliate uh in eugene and he dominated them both times and i think that's a major major step forward for him so

I know people ask me all the time on social media when so-and-so getting to the next level.

And I think all the signs are there.

But I think, you know, the Jays are going to take things very, very carefully with King from here.

He's only 19.

That UCL isn't completely formed yet.

So I think he'll be in New Hampshire by the end of the year.

But I think the Blue Jays have to be thrilled with his progress right now.

He's starting to cut down on the walks a little bit, attacking the strike zone a little bit better.

And that was a really big challenge, as I said, in his last start.

So that's definitely he's trending upward.

You would have to think so.

I know talking to Blue Jays minor league pitching director Justin Lear last fall, this was a guy that they were counting on to possibly make the big league team this year.
