The uh death and resurrection of Jesus didn't change that.
What it changed was the resurrection unto life.
Yeah, yeah.
So I remember um
I rem this was many years ago, decades ago, reading a story, uh reading an anecdote uh written by a pacifist in the um uh it was this is during Vietnam or the Vietnam era.
And there was a Christian p fighter pilot who was shot down and captured by the North Vietnamese and tortured by the North Vietnamese, uh, just repeatedly tortured.
And he uh when he was after he re was released, he wrote a book and he talked about how he had learned to love his enemies, the the men who were
coming into his cell to torture him, h how he had had God gave him the grace to love them and pray for them and seek their salvation.
And that but when he was released, when this fighter pilot was released, uh he was asked uh he he was telling this story, I'd learned to love my enemies, and then he was asked, Would you fly uh would you fly any additional missions against them?
And he said, Of course.
Okay.
Uh when the Bible tells us to love our enemies, it's presupposing that we will have them.
And and you're going to ha you're gonna be in a situation where you uh
are going to be confronted with someone who's going to do a really bad thing and y if you have the means to stop him, then you must stop him.
But you must stop must not stop him with malice in your heart or with hatred in your heart.
You're not fighting him or dealing with him because you hate him.
You are dealing with him because you love what you're defending.
You love what's behind you.
