just try to catch yourself a little bit earlier each time and stop it before you actually say that thing.
If it's a situation where you're always like scheduling everything, you're doing all the things for the family, you do all the things for the kids, and you'd like your partner to step up more, you can make a request.
You can say, hey, I would love it if you would do X, Y, and Z, but you don't want to make it feel like it's an obligation or another thing that they have to have on their to-do list that you're forcing them to do.
So that's another big aspect of like what I coach women on because none of this is about being some like passenger in your relationship or like a doormat who doesn't decide anything or has no say.
It's not that.
But there is something about the way that you communicate with your partner in terms of the things that you would like them to do.
You make them as a request, not a requirement, not an obligation.
And so when you start doing those two things, noticing if you're micromanaging or commenting or critiquing in any way and trying to just like zip it and don't do that and learn how to make the requests of things that are actually really important to you in a different way than you're doing now, those will go a really long way.
in kind of softening your role in the relationship and allowing space for your partner to step in and do the things that he probably really would love to do if he knew that they pleased you.
He just doesn't have any drive or desire to do them right now because you either nitpick him or you've got it.
And so you just get it done and he doesn't have to do it.
Yeah.
So when it comes to dating, if you are in the dating world and you haven't found your person yet, it's just a really...
thing for you to first of all get comfortable with your level of success and be unapologetic about what that is when you're dating so I see a lot of high achieving women when they're dating they shrink I did this myself when I was dating between my two marriages I didn't write on my dating profiles that I was a doctor I just put I'm in medicine okay and so everybody would assume I was a nurse which is great but
but I'm a doctor.
So what's to be shy about?
Why wouldn't I say that?
And it was so interesting because I also noticed that the men that I would see on the apps who were physicians, they straight up wrote that.
I am a neurosurgeon.
I do this.
