And I just want to get it over with.
And they rush it.
And then it's not well executed.
So we would be saying, all right, let's put a routine together.
And routines are brilliant because they give our brain sort of a sense of control in a situation.
The brain is like, oh, this is quite an overwhelming situation.
Yeah, but we have our routine.
Let's deliver our routine.
So we would say something like, OK, let's get started in our stance.
And then the next part would be our attention.
So if we're thinking, right, this is the particular point that I want to put the ball and we want to focus our attention there.
Because what happens as well in high pressure situations is that
athletes tend to focus on what's threatening.
So they focus on the keeper, for example.
And again, when you look at the stats, focusing on the keeper, not an effective strategy for a successful penalty.
So we would say, right, let's train our attention, for example, let's pick our spot.
And even just getting them to kind of slow things down.
So when the referee's blowing the whistle, don't rush, right?
Take a breath, take a moment, right?
do your routine and then do your execution.
