That's what you want, is you want a child who's resilient when things aren't going their way and you have a positive view of and things will go on and it will be okay.
So I think parents have unrealistic expectations.
That's the biggest issue is we are in a society where we can have anything we want in a moment, right?
Like just order it.
Like it's coming at the door in a couple hours, right?
Yes.
So discipline does not work that way.
And so parents have this, oh, my gosh, I told them not to, you know, pull the dog's tail.
And yet 20 more times they're pulling the dog's tail.
So then they think, oh, my strategy isn't working.
I should use a different strategy.
And so I want every parent to hear this.
You can't make a toddler eat, sleep, or poop on the potty.
It has to be their idea.
And every parent needs to hear that you are planting the seeds of discipline.
Do not expect your tree to grow overnight.
Okay.
Consistency is key.
And you're going to look at your, like you have to have a leap of faith, right?
And know that, you know, when your child is five or when they're 10, you can look back and go, oh, all of this work and effort really worked.
