A guy who largely is free of individual challenges defensively.

Peyton provides one.

So I think Peyton has that ceiling on defense.

Again, the thing McDaniels should get a lot of credit for is as he's got better offensively, he's stayed more or less like a really impactful defender.

And that is very difficult to do.

But I know when you're playing the Wolves,

kind of there's all these things you got to bake in like anthony edwards is going to have at least a stretch naz reed against the nuggets is going to look better than he is at some point yeah the mcdaniels points feel like the straw that break the camel's back like if he has a big game and goes for 20 or something you're you're in rough shape and i almost like that's kind of how i'm looking at peyton like it's you know you could think like let's just say he was in the starting lineup in theory for cam

You kind of, you've got all this stuff, you're game planning for it.

But then if Peyton gives you 21 as well, you're like, ah, man, that's just too much.

That's just too much for us to handle.

So yeah, that's a really interesting comp.

And I think.

I'm just intrigued to see the balance that Peyton can find and strike between my role is growing, but I know I can still win us games by playing defense.

I mean, look, the first story here, the first layer of this was, okay, if you put him in for Christian Brown, he can actually also score in that spot alongside Jokic, right?

Hit some open threes, feast off the split actions, easy enough.

Maybe that's just a very replaceable spot in the lineup.

But there's another layer to this in these last five games, which is they needed someone to score 20, and he's done it without much help.

So to me, I have opened my mind to a higher ceiling for Peyton Watson than I thought possible.
