They're my three of my core values.
But linking to what we are talking about as well, while my values are my north star, a guidance system for where I want to be, the world is trying to pull me off course.
And it's this dichotomy between values-based decisions versus feelings-based decisions that I think can give a great framework to people.
So imagine you value a relationship, honesty and integrity, but you feel like avoiding a difficult conversation that needs to be had.
Do you make a feelings-based decision or a values-based decision?
Imagine you value your health, but you feel like having a bottle of wine or two.
Do you make a feelings-based decision or a values-based decision?
That could be as a result of stress.
Imagine you're feeling disconnected, lonely and bored.
You value your mind and you value relationships, but you feel like jumping on TikTok for three hours.
Do you make a feelings-based decision or a values-based decision and go and connect with someone, be vulnerable, tell them, look, I'm really not doing well.
Can we have a conversation?
So we need to lean into the uncomfortable thing grounded in our values rather than the easy thing.
Do what's right, not what's easy.
And I think that's a great framework to live your life around.
I think we need to, there's a comfort crisis going on at the moment with technology, with different elements of the world.
So we need to lean into what is not comfortable and that's what's going to serve us going forward.
The brain wants to chase pleasure and avoid pain.
It doesn't want the friction of studying.
But what do you value?
