I thought the whole time, yeah, that these extreme sport athletes are experiencing non-ordinary states of consciousness when they push themselves to their limit and time disappears and their sense of who they are and their connectedness and how they fit in the spectrum of the universe.

I mean, people will experience that through music and through prayer and through spirituality practices.

And that's not just the territory of psychedelic compounds.

But childbirth could be considered a non-ordinary state of consciousness.

So there's lots of different ways to access it.

And so I think that's important for people to recognize is this is one vehicle that more predictably induces that.

There's a lot to be said about what comes before and what after and not just focusing on the drug experience itself.

I never have easy answers for this, right?

Because it's, okay, what is the setting?

What is the environment?

What are the circumstances?

Who's the individual?

What is the condition they're navigating?

I will say that the safety profile is quite high on psilocybin because of the safety studies that they've been able to do in terms of the physical safety profile on this compound.

But could it be risky for individuals with hypertension?

Absolutely, because it causes an increase in hypertension.

And if someone has a vulnerability from a cardiac standpoint, that would not be good for them.

But there's other nuances there that I'm not going to speak to exhaustively.

But in controlled settings where there's not repeated administration over and over and over again, we have good data to support its safety.

Psychological safety is a different question depending on what people are able to access and what's in their history and what's been kind of maybe pushed off to the side and the challenge of that.
