They're attached to, both of them are attached to what's called a psychosocial support model.

You are being supported in your experience.

There's preparation that goes into that.

You have at least two therapists in the room the whole time or clinicians in the room, depending on how it's designated.

And then those people are present largely in the integration window that follows.

But it's not a very specific standalone therapy that's being introduced alongside of these.

So even using the term psilocybin therapy is a little misleading because many therapists would say what's happening in the room is of course a therapeutic process.

but it's not being packaged as a standalone therapy alongside of psilocybin.

The purpose of the psychosocial support is very focused on drug effects, informed consent, and how to prepare someone for a non-ordinary state experience that could be occasioned by psilocybin.

And their role in the room when the psilocybin is on board to provide safety, support, choices, comfort,

But they're not being tasked with wearing a therapist hat in that moment in a traditional sense.

So that's just important to distinguish and differentiate.

And then in the process of integration, it's there to help people make sense or meaning of what has happened in that experience.

Now, the purpose of that feels more vital for people who've had a very difficult or challenging or disappointing experience.

This is also something that's not often talked about.

is there's actually a high percentage of disappointment that happens alongside of psychedelics because, like we talked about before, people are attempting to predict what will happen.

And we've got the backdrop of media and culture saying these are miraculous drugs that change people's lives.

So people go into them expecting a certain kind of thing to happen.
