But if things get a little out of parameters, they say, like interest rates suddenly do something really crazy like they did in the long-term capital management.
They had all these fancy derivatives and all of a sudden, oops, you know, Russian bonds went a little further than they thought in the wrong direction.
And boom, six billion out the window.
And Alan Greenspan had to fix it.
You know, if these derivative markets freeze up, what we're going to see is the complete freezing of our financial system and markets.
And that'd be very bad.
And, you know, sort of my dark horse candidate for kicking all this off is going to be Japan.
Their yen is weakening really a lot right now, and they're trying hard to make that not happen.
And also they've lost control of their bonds and the yields are spiking higher.
And that's a very rare combination to lose control of both the price of your money and your interest rates.
You know, that's so that could be a situation where if that really starts to spiral out of control, they're going to have to do something.
And that would mean closing markets, shutting things down, you know, and what would that look like?
Yeah.
You know, we'll wake up one day and they'll say, oh, you know, terrible things happened at Nomura Bank.
But don't worry, it's very temporary.
Oh, actually, Japan's going to have to shut their Nikkei down for just a couple of days.
Actually, hang on.
We're going to have to shut down one of our banks over here for a little while.
And then it'll be Wednesday and they'll be like, we can't open it.
This is how this is going to sort of play out at some point.
