At the end of the day, Hakeem Jeffries was asked a very pointed question, and that was, what are the Democrats gonna do?
We all know that Hegstiff isn't qualified.
We knew that when he went through the process.
We all know that the majority of people who were appointed to Trump's team are unqualified.
Hell, Trump himself is unqualified.
OK, all that remaining constant, what are Democrats going to do?
There is illegality here.
There is international standing that is at stake.
There is protection of our allies that is at stake.
There is a flag being waved, essentially, that could cause other nations to not only turn their backs on us, but also become more aggressive towards us.
I think that there is something that the Democrats have to stand up for.
And because Hakeem Jeffries, at least in the House, is their leader, he has the obligation
to not only be the face of that charge, but to also give them direction.
And he has proven himself to be utterly rudderless against an administration that is rogue as hell.
In Donald Trump, we have a president whose mugshot is literally within walking distance of the Oval Office.
This is a man who's not only fine being a criminal, this is a man who basically wears it as a badge of honor.
And we have a Democratic Party and Democratic leadership that has not only failed at coming to that reckoning, but is still using old time rhetoric to try to force his hand.
To Dr. Greer's point a little while ago, a lot of how our politics is shaped is by custom, not by law.
You have a president who denies all customs.
