So you've got guys who don't want to talk about sex and practitioners who don't want to talk about sex and then suddenly we have all these sexual problems around us that aren't being dealt with.
Um, for some for some personnel I think it would be partly those issues being to to to to just being present in the moment for others.
I mean if we're we're talking about PDSD and and high levels of stress even, um th that ability just to be um is is is quite hard.
Um
Well, I'm I've I've got Chris here in the studio with me.
Chris, what's been your experiences?
And then I think the the easiest way to explain a arousal is arousal.
You know, I I work with with people in in um police force as well and and explain to them that, you know, um y y you're in a highly aroused situation, you know, y your body's aroused, these things occur.
It's it's it's like nurses and and medicos in in ERs spend all day hyper aroused responsibility.
Responding to to crisis situations and then go home and don't want to experience arousal and therefore, you know, have a lack of desire for sex.
And it's like, well, you don't have a lack of desire, you just simply have high levels of arousal.
So, you know, I know we often think about sexual arousal as as different, but arousal is uh arousal, it's just being manifested in a different way in the body.
So, you know, listening to Chris
his story, you know, he was highly aroused um in that situation and one of those those effects was an unwanted boner, so to speak.
One of the things I I would encourage anybody experiencing sexual dysfunction is to reach out, whether it's to their GP to a sexual health physician, a a a psychologist or a therapist, or m hopefully a a a sex or a psychosexual therapist, somebody who's trained to deal with sexual issues and able to deal with sexual issues.
A lot of the work that we do is often dealing with things like trauma, depression, anxiety in our work.
Yet it it's being able to work with people and and give them exercises about being in the moment sexually and and and well just basically being in the moment sexually.
Thank you for having me, appreciate uh speaking.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
