Yeah, but like, you know, even, it's true.

And, you know, even in those kind of stats, I mean, one of the real problems is actually finding out how many people are directly employed in, like, FDI.

So, and like, this gets into, like, this is not just a kind of, you know, academic, train-spotting kind of argument on my part.

We're trying to get a picture of something that is extremely abstract.

And what I mean by that... It's the economy generally.

That's called society, you know.

Once you get past, I mean, how many people do we meet in our lifetimes?

Is it 1,000, 10,000?

You know, I mean, there are 8 million people.

I'm thinking I probably knocked on 20,000 doors in the last election.

Yeah, yeah.

But even at that, even at the 20,000 doors, there are 8 million people on this island.

In our lifetimes, we will meet at maximum less than 1% of all Irish people who are alive.

So 99% of all Irish people we will never ever meet personally.

So in order to get a sense of this thing called Ireland, we need some kind of conceptual frameworks

some kind of frameworks to actually make sense of what's going on.

So this is hugely kind of important.

And if they're kind of distorted, then we get a distorted image.

And that distorted image then feeds into policy.

And then you get, in terms of housing as well, politicians saying, oh, the policy isn't working.
