We want people to be able to regulate their emotions better and to process their experiences better.
And so letting people sleep if they can.
I think is an important thing.
But also again the message is treatment is available and
People often suffer for a very long time when we can often get really good outcomes in somewhere between a month and a half and three months of treatment.
So it's a shorter term investment.
for a really long term payoff in terms of quality of life.
I wanna do two parts.
One myth that I would challenge about PTSD is that it is only a disorder from
Military combat.
Or that it's only something that happens to people who have been involved in
a line of exposure to violence.
It absolutely can be, but trauma exposure comes from a lot of different things.
The number one reason for PTSD or the most common trauma related problem for PTSD is motor vehicle accidents.
And so people have PTSD for a lot of different reasons.
It affects people from all walks of life.
And it's treatable.
We in research studies look at people with all types of trauma from all walks of life.
And we find that everybody can get better.
So that recovery is possible.
