So the canonical standard dose for decades now has been five grams of creatine monohydrate per day.
So I also mentioned now a form of creatine that is most of the research is built off of creatine monohydrate.
It's stable and
remain in a jar on your shelf for years as long as it doesn't get water in it.
So typically supplements will come with those packs that are inside the supplements to try to absorb moisture so it doesn't cause clumping.
I've had creatine where, you know, it's been sitting on my shelf for a while and then when you open the jar again, it's all hard and you have to like mix it up.
That's just because hydration or some water gets in there and it causes the molecules to bind and it's not as
It doesn't look the way that it did when you first opened that jar.
So that's just a little bit of administrative context here.
But three to five grams a day had really been the standard for a long time.
You also will hear people discuss a loading dose or loading phase, I should say.
And this is all going back to sports performance.
So the athletes would take...
20 grams a day.
So usually five grams, four times.
So one in the morning, one at lunch, one late afternoon, one a little bit later, something like that.
And that is going to saturate your muscle creatine stores faster.
If you don't take the loading dose over five to seven days, and you just take five grams per day, you'll end up in the exact same place, but it'll take, let's say, three weeks.
And we can discuss the merits of that.
Sometimes...
