So my my recommendation is to find someone that has the training and the experience with whatever the root of what's going on is.
And you might not know that.
You might need help figuring that out.
And then also find someone whose personality is a good fit.
You know, I'm very interactive in my sessions.
I interrupt people, I stop the conversation, I steer it, I move things because that's what I know works.
Some people don't like that style, they're not ready for it, some people don't feel comfortable with a male therapist.
Okay, then find someone who's a good fit for you, right? 'Cause this is my style, this is what seems to work for for people, but it doesn't work for everybody.

And then I would also, you know, ask yourself about the
the investment you're willing to make.
So
You know, as I mentioned, a couple's retreat is about a year of therapy in four days, which means you're gonna pay for like a year of therapy in four days too.
And for some people that makes a lot of sense.
They're ready to jump in, they're motivated, they want to get the work done in a very short period of time.
Other people need to go slower.
And if you're not ready for an intensive retreat.
maybe start with more traditional therapy.
