I'm sure that they have lots of them.

But it's the systematic way of ensuring every person that comes into this setting is ready, has been validated, and is competent.

And so I think, again, in relation to that, every time I come onto a plane and I travel a lot like you, I can see it and I watch how these individuals behave.

rely on what the systems or what they've been taught.

They're not looking around to see if I've worked with this person before to determine what I do.

You know that they know it.

And so I think that's the level of competence and confidence

that I think nursing leaders, healthcare leaders need to feel the obligation to provide in all of our settings.

Yeah, I would start with the core of who we are, which is the perioperative guidelines for practice.

And that is, they are evidence-based guidelines.

We use an interdisciplinary advisory board that is populated with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses from all different kinds of specialties, as well as professionals from other healthcare disciplines.

That helps us ensure, because again, everything in the OR is about a team, including the guidelines.

The guidelines need to be viewed because they're used by everybody.

They're not just for the nurse in the OR.

They're for practice within the OR.

So that is the basis of really that we build everything else at AORN.

But some of the tools that we have at AORN, specifically around civility and bullying behaviors, we actually have a toolkit that has been developed.

Yes, we do.

This is an extraordinary resource for leaders, for educators, for staff nurses, for really anyone who works in and around an operating room.
