It's like what comes first

you know, what is the function?

And and a lot of the time you'll end up with a person that will by and large, most of most of them will have like four or five different diagnoses, but O C D will be in the mix.

So you're dead right.

But the things you tease apart that get complicated, tick disorder, hoarding disorder, because you're gonna have hoarding disorder versus O C D with hoarding features.

You can do anorexia, range of different eating disorders.

generalized anxiety and all of the anxiety disorders are also a big one.

Then you've also got, you know, you can actually go completely the other way and look at some of the um compulsive behaviours and look at obsessionality in terms of

y you know, differentiating, sometimes it gets tricky.

Um, I really like these cases, but it y I often get a second opinion on them because of the weight, which is where you've got a person with O C D predominantly sexual themes and it could be inappropriate sexual themes towards children or animals, etc.

Um, but then sometimes because on average there's like eleven to fourteen years of diagnosis to accessing evidence based care.

they've been what I call stewing in their juices so long that their insight is variable, particularly if they're not on medication.

So part of them will be like, I hate these sorts, but I'm also not sure now whether I like them, I don't wanna like them but

And then so you can go, I'm ninety percent sure it's O C D but then I'll actually refer to I've got a couple of forensic psychs or psychiatrists that'll like, okay, and you tease it apart more because that is the thing with O C D that starts off very ego dystonic like use disorders like crazy, blah, blah, blah.

But because of the shame and guilt they don't say anything, so they sit there with this stuff for ten years.

And it's it's also, you know, I think uh we have to look at our at ourselves sort of like within the Allied Health and Medical Profession and that

A lot of people will go to a GP and say, Can we have a referral to the O C D clinic?

some contamination fears, like I'm worried, you know, it might infect.
