Um and it's a wonderful, wonderful example of how even with medieval history and archaeology, every year there's brand new archaeology, you know, to be talked about.
There's brand new historical topics um based on on documentary evidence.
Um and the idea, I suppose, is to showcase this to the public.
Um I mean, one of the things Paul can talk about this better than me, but just around the corner from us, what a lot of people call
medieval little.
Um like I teach American students and so often at the start of each semester they'll say, Do you know about the medieval little?
I'm like, Yeah, yeah, I've heard about the medieval little.
Um, but it shows, you know, when I mean it's such a perfect example of how to engage the public um and how you can preserve something but still have have a workaround, you know, that you still have a
a functioning shop but you can bring people in and and see, you know, Viking and medieval material.
So I think the the medieval Dublin series, I mean in this particular volume you have everything from, you know, say Roots, very exciting article, but you have say even on on Thomas Street where the hospital is that that I wrote about, you have three different articles from
just one particular street.
And somewhere like Thomas Street, I think for a lot of people, you can walk down Thomas Street for a lot of tourists.
It's the thoroughfare to the Guinness factory, and you stroll down Thomas Street and you don't think anything of it.
And here in one volume in one year, we have three articles talking about what was happening on Thomas Street.
And I think there's an opportunity perhaps for us to
to try and bring that more to the surface and to allow people to kind of appreciate when they're walking these streets the the the breadth of history and archaeology that's that's there.
Uh yes.
So uh yeah, for anybody who's writing a a dry historical article, throw in a bit of of sexual impropriety and that's how you get the the readers in definitely.
So the priors were a very important position.
They were the head of the hospital itself was quite a big institution.
