It was never meant to be that we carried everything.
Financial responsibility, family responsibility, personal responsibility, parental responsibility and health responsibility.
All keeping our stuff, keeping our shit together.
We keep our shit together because we have to for our kids, for our partners, for work.
And we have to put on a brave face.
But the reality is the system is against us.
Henry Ford invented the nine to five day and yet our children go to school nine to three.
Why are we trying to pick up?
You know, our working day starts at six in the morning or at three in the morning when they come into you or two in the morning when you have to go into them.
We don't have a working day.
It's a 24 hour cycle.
Do you know what's interesting about that?
Between 7pm and one in the morning is the highest volume of traffic we see on our website.
Women are doing our health assessment because it's the one time that they're not serving somebody else.
They're lying in bed with their fears and they're saying, OK, I need help with this.
But at every other hour of the 20, they are serving someone else's needs and they're not prioritizing themselves and they're exhausted doing so.
So in a weird way, I take great comfort in knowing that they have somewhere to turn, that they can go and do a health assessment, a non-judgmental health assessment, that they don't have to sit in front of a stranger.
Like for every story that you tell me, every one version that you tell me that their GP was open and listening, I hear 20 more that they weren't listened to, they weren't heard.
They were fobbed off.
They were, you know, embarrassed.
