And to me, I think there's like ignoring routine blood work that should and does give you information into the root cause and then treating it appropriately, whether that is with hormonal contraception or not, means that somebody lives in fear.

When you're put on a prescription of contraception or hormonal contraception and you're given it for symptoms that were debilitating, then you are married to that form of treatment.

Okay, you're not going to come off it because no day is a good day to decide I want my hormonal acne back.

I want to start bleeding again.

Unless you physically have to, which is I need to make a baby now.

And which is you say you're replacing one problem with another then and you're saying or rather one solution with another.

So having a baby means that you're actually then pausing your periods and breastfeeding means you can elongate that.

And so I think that's really a massive problem is that we don't join the dots.

You only present for help.

You only present to come off it to have a baby.

You only present for help afterwards because you're in that postpartum period and you're probably dealing with something else as opposed to giving yourself the grace and full attention that you really deserve.

And that's what we don't give women from the youngest age possible.

I find it crazy to think that you can put teenage girls on hormonal contraception without testing their blood and understanding what's actually wrong with them.

and that you wouldn't revisit that.

You wouldn't revisit it a few years later to say like, actually, let's check and see what's going on with you.

I could too.

We're exhausted.
