But broadly speaking, I've been working for many years on

Russian soldiers, military identity and

War culture is grown up around propaganda.

Both in the 20th century and more recently, in particular using digital tools and social media.

And that's something we're going to be talking about a lot today.

So my last book, and I hope we'll get to the touch on this, was about militarization of children in today's Russia and how they get roped into to the army and supporting the military in various ways, and in particular how social media is so important for the state to achieve that.

Yeah, I agree that I I think Russia today is

a fascist state or at least certainly has a fascist government.

And

You're right, uh

flag up this issue, the dropping the F bomb as it were.

Um just come across as being very emotional because it's used so

frequently and so lightly today that in in Western political discourse, it doesn't matter what country you're in, we fling that word back and forth across the left-right divide so that anyone could be a fascist, right?

It's not what we're trying to do here.

We're scholars and we have a very specific understanding of what fascism is.

And I'll explain what this is and Terrace.
