Habit change is the thing that we need to be focusing on.
And that's really hard, like changing your habits.
Even if it's yourself and you're wanting to change your habits, you want to eat less donuts in meetings or if you want to read more poetry or do whatever it is, it's hard to maintain those changes for the long term.
And if you're talking about something as complex as a school and trying to change the habits of people in that school, adults and children, and lots of what we're going to come on to in this final part of this conversation, I think applies just as much to adults as it does to young people.
It's really hard, but it's absolutely doable.
And looking at it through that habit lens is very powerful, which brings us, I think, neatly into chapter 10, which is the 87 things to try chapter.
And congratulations, first of all, it's a very impressive list.
It's an exhaustive list.
I can see that you dug deep and you acknowledge that some of these things are strongly rooted in evidence.
Some of them are perhaps a bit more tentative and some of them sort of draw on your previous work.
Guy and some of the stuff around being more learner-centered and so on.
It feels to me like this is almost like an initial long list and it feels like there's a bit of work to do here to develop these ideas and to create a toolkit for teachers and other educators.
So these 87 things are grouped into different themes.
There's stuff around increasing body awareness, thinking with our bodies, using our bodies to manipulate objects to help us think, thinking about the physical space, play and imagination and so on.
And so obviously 87 is a lot.
I wonder if I could ask each of you to just pick out your favourite one, two or three, something that you think that would be interesting for people to hear about.
And this could be either addressed at young people or at adults.
for sure
Okay, so do you have a favorite one or maybe a couple that you'd like to share?
Yeah, thank you.
