I don't have a compelling reason to do this.
I was in psychology, and what I was interested in at the time, this was the late 70s, early 80s, I was interested in how the body kept weight so constant over a lifetime.
Because at that point, most people, most adults stayed at a constant weight over their life.
So I was looking at this regulatory system to say, how's the brain managing all this?
So people, despite changes in intake and expenditure, they stay at a constant weight.
And it was really in the late 80s that we began to see that, in fact, people weren't staying at a constant rate.
They were gaining weight.
