Yeah, that's a good way of looking at it.
And that's a big topic we cover in the book, what to expect when the medication stops.
Now, one thing about the medication is when you stop it, because this medication is,
hangs around the receptors for a long time.
It isn't going to stop immediately.
You're going to have a little bit of a runway.
What the medication does is to make you feel full on less food.
The other thing it does, and this seems to be maybe playing a more important role than we thought, it eliminates or reduce what we call food noise.
Food noise is that people have this constant thoughts about food, what's in my cupboard, what's the next meal, and the medication for many people makes that go away.
So on the food side, when you stop the medications,
you're gradually going to be hungrier and you're going to want to increase your food intake.
The food noise is going to come back, which probably contributes to your eating more.
Then at the same time, you know, Wendy, as you're
as you lose weight, your energy expenditure goes down.
So if you've lost weight and hadn't exercised, you're going to have an increase in appetite, an increase in food noise at the time when your energy expenditure has decreased.
That's the perfect storm for regaining weight very quickly.
But here's the problem.
We've talked to a lot of people who
While they're on the medications, they say, oh, I've got it.
I don't think I need these anymore because I'm managing my food intake and so forth.
