Then ultimately, are you taking action?
And so bottom line is, we are not prepared very well at all.
And what do you want us to know about what's actually possible?
Think about this.
The 30 extra years we have gained in longevity since the year 1900, that's a dividend to be cashed in, not something to be wallowing sadness about.
So what I want people to think about is the joy that they can achieve, the daily moments, but more importantly, being prepared.
is not just about being, you know, good, rational person.
It's also an act of love, an act of love for yourself, an act of love for those that you love and the like.
You know, for the most important technology out there is the conversation.
It's not an app.
It's not a gee whiz.
It's not genetics or space travel.
It really is the conversation.
And one of the things I want you to think about
I want everyone to think about is that we do not have a story for old age.
We have a story that old age is somewhere between cruises and crutches, and we forget all the chapters in between.
And so my team at the MIT Age Lab did some awesome work with our partners at John Hancock to develop a map
of what longevity is going to be like.
In fairness, we've never had a generation of people living this long with this high of expectations, with not just one generation caring for another.
We all talk about the sandwich generation.
