I have heard some cliches used often when people make decisions that I don't think are necessarily healthy.

And so let's break those down a little bit.

One of them is guys will say, happy wife, happy life.

That's not true.

And so underlying that is I need to make decisions just to go along with my wife if I want a peaceful home.

Why do you think that's bad?

Or even from a faith perspective, sometimes the whole teaching about a husband being the leader to some women means then he makes all the decisions.

Like I just do what he says.

And that's sort of the reverse of that.

So the flip in some way.

It does in some respect, but there's nowhere in the Bible that actually tells husbands to lead their wives.

And so that is true.

Like it says in Ephesians 5 that, you know, the husband is the head of the wife, is Christ the head of the church, but it doesn't say lead.

It says, wash her with the water.

So like, take care of her spiritually.

Love her like Christ loved the church.

Lay your life down for her.

And so I think it's important to say, okay, that's a very nuanced thing.

It doesn't mean I make all the decisions.
