So I've worked with many people who will adopt a negative identity.
So the first thing to understand is even a negative identity, like I'm a loser, is not actually a negative identity.
Mm-hmm.
A loser is an adaptation that our mind forms to protect ourselves.
So I was struggling with gaming addiction when I was like 18 years old.
And, you know, I had hopes.
I had dreams.
And not being able to achieve those dreams is so painful.
So one of the ways that we adapt is we become something that is not capable of success.
Right?
So there are winners in life and there are losers in life.
And I am a loser.
And that thought comes with a lot of a negative emotion.
The mistake that a lot of people end up making is they try to get rid of that negative emotion.
They try to think like, okay, I'm a loser.
Instead, I should be a winner.
And there's a lot of value to a positive mindset, which we can get to, but let's understand the fundamentals.
First thing to understand is if you have a negative identity, it is serving you in some way.
The human brain, our mind has evolved with all of these structures.
And one of the simplest ways, I know you, I'm sure you've had injuries, right?
