So unity for me isn't pretending everybody's agreeing on everything and skipping around happily.

It's about recognizing our common purpose and recognizing our collective risk if we try and diversify away from our collective ambition too much.

You've got

a minority but a reasonable chunk of the committee who feel very passionately about the voice of partners and protecting partners above all else.

And I think, as I've said, that the committee's job is to negotiate the contract.

So that has to work.

It doesn't need to be choosing partners or choosing sessional GPs.

I think that's an artificial argument, but it's one that some are keen to have and are keen to push to the forefront.

There are many challenges, but I hope that whatever happens, people will look back and go, She worked really hard and she tried her best.

I would have loved a more generous fiscal environment that wasn't so

so economically challenging.

I would have loved fewer geopolitical crises and a more stable government to work with.

I would have loved there to be straighter lines of governance around what we committed to and then what we delivered and what we saw when working with government.

my ambition when I started was to do the very best I could to build up a factual, evidence-based narrative as to why general practice requires so much emergency investment and to try and secure a new contract, which is what LMC conference wanted.

And getting that commitment in writing from government was

Part of the journey.

But it it's all about the delivery and

you can't make everything happen yourself.

You are always enthralled to the government.

It's only the government that's got the key to open that door.
