But that's what Big Food is interested in selling you because the final brick in building this wall is that when you make something out of those three ingredients, you can make a 1,000x profit.
Because all the ingredients are subsidized, so they're essentially free.
They're shelf-stable, so there's no loss like, oh, it molded, oh, it went bad.
There's none of that.
And you can charge a 500%, 1,000%, a 1,500% markup on it.
Can't do that with fish, eggs, meat, real bread that are actual human made.
You can't make a thousand percent markup.
So Kellogg's and Kraft Heinz and Mondal is they're not interested in that.
OK, they want shelf stable forever, essentially free ingredients.
You know, they're super cheap and I can source them from anywhere and then it'll sit on the shelf for two years and I make a thousand percent.
Yeah, I'll take that deal.
But they're not interested in a local rancher or local farmer.
They have no interest in that.
And that's why increasingly people who really want to take charge of their health are buying everything they can from as close to their home as they can.
So the first thing I would say to her is there's no such thing as a healthy snack.
Period.
No exception.
Right.
So if you're snacking in between meals, you didn't eat enough during your previous meal, which tells me that you've fallen for the false choice again that, oh, if you're trying to lose weight or get healthier, you've got to eat smaller portions.
