But in my case and in a lot of adoptee cases, our parents were pretty young when we were born.

My mom was 20.

Right.

health evolves over time.

And there are things we find out later about risks that we wouldn't have known then.

So I would love to see some sort of dynamic way to access medical information that if we need to protect privacy, sure.

But adoptees right to know should be much bigger, a much bigger conversation and entity, I think.

It affects you for your whole life.

It is.

I absolutely did.

It was so kind of like what I was saying about my mom, right.

That I will never know her outside of other people's perspectives or what, like their, their filtered opinions of her.

Right.

I wanted to know myself in a concrete way beyond what everyone else said I was or where I came from.

And so my story before the story is told in part by the information on that form.

I didn't know that I hadn't been officially named before my adoptive birth certificate was finalized.

Like my adoptive parents had named me and picked out the name, but,

I think part of the coercion of my story is that my mom was told what they were planning to name me.

And I think maybe she felt like she couldn't name me herself or something.

I don't know.
