So there's two ways to dismantle it, what I've learned, basically.

And you can not think about the future, or you can not be afraid to feel what you're going to feel.

Now, thinking about the future is probably a valuable thing to do, especially if you're going to be prudent when you're doing an operation.

You do want to think about all the things that can go wrong in an operation.

You want to be prepared for that.

But you don't even want to worry about it.

What I would say is, what I've learned is, Anders Ericsson said it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something.

It takes 50,000 hours to become a neurosurgeon.

And in my career, I've spent another 50,000 hours practicing.

So that's 100,000 hours.

And we talked about how brain surgeons not only do brain surgery, but they do spine surgery.

And one of the instruments that we commonly use is this kerosene enduro, which is a bone biter.

And what this instrument simply does is it removes bone spurs.

When we close this trigger,

the mouth of this instrument closes and it removes bone.

Kind of cuts it off or shaves it a little bit.

Exactly.

It shaves it off to make a canal where a nerve is compressed free to relieve pain.

And so every time you close this instrument as a neurosurgeon, you need to be watching the edges of this instrument and make sure when you're closing it, you're closing it on the bone spur and not the nerve.
